I started my journey as a seafarer in 1990, and over the years, I've experienced both immense joy and deep challenges in this life at sea. The hardships, like the physical toll from metal shoes, made me realize that seafarers around the world deserve a place where they can find peace and comfort. That's why I created the International Seafarers Service and Holiday Village—the first organization dedicated solely to seafarers worldwide. I've invested everything I earned in my 30-year career to build this place in Sri Lanka, a home for all my fellow mariners. My dream is to see it grow into a global hub for seafarers, and I'm inviting all of you to join me in making this vision a reality. Together, we can turn this small seed into a sheltering tree, a place where seafarers from every corner of the globe can come together and find a true home away from home.
